A material for organic electroluminescent elements which is selected among polyacene derivatives represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 R8, R9, R10, A1, and A2 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, a hydrocarbon group, etc.; and n is an integer of 1 or larger. The material can provide an organic electroluminesce nt element excellent in stability, durability, luminance, and luminescent efficiency.
