PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital sound recording and reproducing device having a new function excellent in convenience. SOLUTION: A data write part 27 reads data Drd stored in recording medium MEM. A central control part 22 supplies voice data Dsrd included in the data Drd to reproducing systems of a D/A converter 29, etc., synchronizes character data Dwrd included in the data Drd and supplies the data to a display 2. The convenience is improved by associating producing of the sound by the voice data Dsrd with character display by the character data Dwrd. The convenience is improved by enabling the adjustment of speed of the reproducing of the sound and the character display.
