PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device of simple structure and easy assembly which is entirely unitized by reducing the number of seal parts by a pressure- reducing floating ring. SOLUTION: The shaft seal device has a first sleeve 51A and a fixed sleeve 53 having an outer circumferential surface fitted to inner circumferential surfaces of a second sleeve 51B and fitted to a rotary shaft 50, and has a coupling means to lock and connect the fixed sleeve 53 to the second sleeve 51B.
