PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not the abnormal detection is caused by abnormality of device when an on-vehicle device detects the abnormality. SOLUTION: In an on-vehicle system formed of a plurality of devices, a certain device refers to a state of another device on detecting the abnormality. When the latter device also detects the abnormality, it can be determined that the detected abnormality is abnormality not of the device itself but due to an external factor. Thus, an error that the detected abnormality due to the external factor is determined as abnormality of the device itself is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
