METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING A METAL HYDROXIDE

The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a metal hydroxide, especially magnesium hydroxide, from a salt solution. The metal i s first precipitated from the salt solution and the suspension obtained in thi s way is then filtered. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device by which means a highly pure metal hydroxide, especially magnesium hydroxide, can be easily, economically and rapidly produced. To this end, th e suspension is filtered by means of at least one filter (13 - 17) pertaining to a cross-flow filtration installation (13 - 17), and a permeate created by th e filtering of the suspension is redirected to the cross-flow filtration installation (14 - 17).
