<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an apparatus for electrochemically detecting nucleotide sequences at a location for collecting samples such as a location at which patients are present and to immediately display test results. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for electrochemically detecting nucleotide sequences is provided with a replaceable cassette 29 for analysis for filling a liquid F, and working electrodes 51-54 and counter electrodes 61-64 are arranged in the cassette 29 for analysis and are capable of coming into contact with the liquid F (a). The apparatus for electrochemically detecting nucleotide sequences is provided with a portable computer unit 5 having both a display 13 and an energy source 9, and capable of electric connection to the cassette 29 for analysis. The computer unit 5 impresses a voltage and/or a current on the electrodes 51-54 and 61-64 to detect a current and/or voltage signal which occurs due to the deposition of nucleotide sequences N to be detected on the working electrodes 51-54, and to display detection results on the display 13 (c).
