<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus capable of easily removing a scattered material in the method for correcting a foreign body defect of a color filter, in which, after newly forming a white defect as a void in the region including the foreign body defect by irradiating the foreign body defect of a colored pattern consisting of a colored layer with a laser beam, the foreign body defect is corrected by filling correction ink having the color corresponding to that of the void by a dispenser or the like, when a scattered material that may cause a defect is generated by the irradiation with the laser beam, in irradiating the defect with the laser beam. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for correcting the foreign body defect of the color filter, in which, after newly forming the white defect as the void in the region including the foreign body defect by irradiating the foreign body defect of the colored pattern consisting of the colored layer with the laser beam, the foreign body defect is corrected by filling the correction ink having the color corresponding to that of the void by the dispenser or the like, the scattered material which is scattered when the irradiation with the laser beam is performed is removed by a suction means, with the state intact or with the state in which the scattered material is made so as to be capable of being sucked by imparting a mechanical impact to the scattered material, and then the correction ink having the color corresponding to that of the void is filled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
