<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the glass of a liquid crystal display device from being broken. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 100 has liquid crystal charged between an array glass substrate 1 and a glass substrate 2 sealed with a sealing material 3. The glass substrate 2 is nearly as large as the array glass substrate 1 and has an opening 8 for a driver IC 4 formed opposite the mount position of the driver IC 4. While the array glass substrate 1 and glass substrate 2 are put one over the other, the driver IC 4 is exposed in the opening 8. This configuration nearly eliminates a position where stress converges on edges of the glass substrates 1 and 2, so the glass substrates 1 and 2 can effectively be from being broken. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
