PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of release time lag without heavily consuming a battery. SOLUTION: In an image data controller, the difference of continuously sent image data is obtained. An image is divided into a plurality of areas and the difference is obtained from the respective areas. Since the image data are sent to the image data controller at a fixed interval timewise, the difference corresponds to the moving speed of a device. A threshold is set for the moving speed of the device and focus adjustment is started when the moving speed of the device becomes lower than the threshold. When the focus adjustment is ended, the device stands by until a release SW is turned on.
