摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber collimator that can reduce an insertion loss in optical connection, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical fiber collimator. SOLUTION: The optical fiber collimator has a ferrule 15, a cylindrical holder 16, and an optical lens component 17. In the ferrule 15, a sleeve 14 for retaining a coated optical fiber 13 is provided at the rear end section of a cylindrical body 12 for ferrules where an optical fiber 11 in which a film at the tip section of the coated optical fiber 13 is removed is inserted and retained. The cylindrical holder 16 fits the ferrule 15 to a rear end section side to retain the ferrule 15. In the optical lens component 17, a lens barrel 24 connected with the tip side of the holder 16 is provided, and an optical lens 25 for setting light being illuminated from the optical fiber 11 to be a parallel beam is provided in the lens barrel 24. In this case, a collar section 22 projecting in a radius direction is provided in one piece at the outer periphery of the holder 16, and the end face at the tip side of the holder 16 at the collar section 22 is set to be a reference surface 23 that orthogonally crosses the axial direction of the parallel beam, thus reducing the insertion loss in the optical connection.
