<p>A LAN tester (1) for carrying out a conduction test, a polarity test and an operation test of LAN wirings. This LAN tester (1) includes a power source (2) for supplying a power source current to one of paired signal lines at one end, a current detector (3) for detecting the current flowing through the other of the signal lines; a forward polarity detector (4) for detecting positive and negative pulses from positive and negative signal lines, respectively; a reverse polarity detector (5) for detecting negative and positive pulses; a first switch (6) for operating the power source (2) and the current detector (3) in a conduction test mode and operating the forward polarity detector (4) and the reverse polarity detector (5) in a polarity test mode; and a second switch (7) for performing an operation test by connecting and folding back a connection terminal of a signal line for transmission and a connection terminal of a signal line for reception in the polarity test mode. According the this construction, a cable conduction test and a reverse connection confirmation test as well as a simple operation test inclusive of HUB, can be carried out on one end.</p> |
