<p>An adjustable open ended spanner has one fixed jaw (10) and one movable jaw (20), with the movable jaw provided with a ratchet (28) which is gripped by a pivot mounted ratchet catch (51) mounted on the fixed jaw. The inner faces of the two jaws fit into each other via grooves and a spring (40) between the two jaws provides a return setting, i.e. to fit the spanner the user simply releases the ratchet and the spring pulls the jaws together. The two parts of the spanner are linked by studs.</p> |
