The procedure relates to the fastening of a sealing cap (1) on a ball joint. The elastomer sealing cap has one end with a larger diameter to be connected to an outer section of a housing (4), and a second end with a smaller diameter for connecting to the body of a spherically headed pin. The sealing cap is connected to a channel located on the upper side of the ball joint's housing to the side of the opening through which passes the spherically headed pin (2) of the ball joint. The channel has an outer flap (8) which is compressed when pressed against the sealing lip (6) of the sealing cap to create a perfect seal.
