PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a landslide protection wall construction method, enabling efficient performance of small-scale pit excavation work. SOLUTION: Four corners of a rectangular pit excavation area 11 are excavated, and four newel piles 2(1) to 2(4) are vertically erected there. Subsequently, waling beams 4(3) are dropped in from the upper ends of newel piles 2(1), 2(2) and so on positioned at both ends in the inter-beam direction. Similarly, waling beams are dropped in from the upper ends of the newel piles positioned at both ends in the ridge direction. Each waling beam is held in its position by a fixing pin inserted in a pin hole located in the middle of the newel pile 2. Subsequently, a longitudinal sheet pile 6 is inserted in the back of each waling beam 4(3). Pit excavation work is performed while a timbering frame 5 constructed by the newel pile 2 and the waling beam and the sheet pile 6 are dropped in a pit excavation part 1. After the depth of the pit excavation becomes large, the waling beam 4(1) is inserted from the upper end of each newel pile and held at the upper end part of the newel pile 2. In this state, while the timbering frame 5 and the sheet pile 6 are dropped in the pit excavation part 1, pit excavation work is performed to a designated depth. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
