RADIO BROADCASTING SYSTEM, METHOD AND RADIO SET FOR RECEIVING TRANSMITTER OR PROGRAMME DATA

A radio broadcasting system is composed of radio transmitters (RS), to which a respective programme identification is assigned, radio sets (RE) comprising a respective display device (D) for reproducing the programme identification and a server (SR), on which data concerning the radio transmitter (RS) is stored together with the programme identification. When a radio set (RE) is tuned to one of said radio transmitters (RS), the data of said radio transmitter (RS) is requested from the server (SR), e.g. by means of a GSM telephone (GSM) and is reproduced on the optical display device (D). According to one embodiment, the data of the respective receivable radio transmitters (RS) is requested in a block from the server (SR), is stored in a memory (SP) of the radio set (RE) making the request and when the radio set (RE) is tuned to one of these radio transmitters (RS), the data of the relevant radio transmitter is reproduced on the optical display device (D).
