Process for the preparation of laminating adhesives and laminates obtained by using these adhesives

Laminating adhesives based on acrylic monomers are obtained by polymerisation initiated with electron beam radiation to give a UV-curable prepolymer. A method (M1) for the production of laminating adhesives involves the polymerisation of a monomer composition (A) containing 70-100 wt% (meth)acrylic acid (or a derivative thereof) of formula (I) by initiation with electron beam radiation, to give a prepolymer suitable for use as a UV-curable laminating adhesive. R1 = H or methyl; and R2 = 2-20C alkyl. An Independent claim is also included for a method for adhesive lamination (M2) by coating a substrate material with laminating adhesive, laminating the coated substrate with a suitable object and then hardening the laminate with UV light.
