A tissue paper making machine has a de-watering press shoe (24) which is applied to a drying cylinder (22) forming a nip interface (28). The press shoe has a centre-zone (M) between two outer margins (R) which are esp. more flexible than the centre zone. Also claimed is a tissue paper making machine with a series of pressure jacks (26) applied to the shoe (24) lower surface. The shoe is progressively thinner (d) towards the outer margins (R) than in the centre section (M). The width of the outer margin is pref. 500 mm and is supported by pref. four pressure jacks (26).
