<p>L-fucokinase has been isolated from porcine kidney in homogeneously purified form. The enzyme has a native molecular weight of about 260 kDa based on gel filtration, a subunit molecular weight of about 45 kDa based on SDS PAGE, and an optimal pH of about 8.0. The enzyme catalyzes the phosphorylation of L-fucose, but does not phosphorylate D-glucose, D-galactose or D-mannose.</p> |
