PURPOSE: A WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplex) system using a non-modulation optical source and a method therefor are provided to improve the efficiency of a system by loading information on the non-modulation optical source and by generating a WDM signal. CONSTITUTION: A non-modulation optical source unit(10) outputs a plurality of non-modulation wavelengths on which information is not loaded. An add/drop unit(210) drops a random wavelength to load information among the wavelengths outputted from the non-modulation optical source unit(10), loads information on the random wavelength, converts the wavelength into a WDM signal, adds the WDM signal to the wavelengths, and transmits the wavelengths through an optical fiber. An attenuating unit(211) corrects an optical power of the wavelength when the optical power attenuation of the wavelength is generated in the add/drop unit(210). A microprocessor unit(280) monitors that the add/drop unit(210) converts the wavelength into the WDM signal. If the optical power attenuation of the wavelength is generated, the microprocessor unit(280) controls the attenuating unit(211), for correcting the optical power of the wavelength. A performance monitoring unit(270) allows the microprocessor unit(280) to monitor the signal conversion performed in the add/drop unit(210).
