FIELD EMISSION DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A field emission display is provided to simplify the structure of the panel and reduce manufacturing procedures by eliminating the necessity of using a spacer. CONSTITUTION: A field emitter(7) emits electrons by an electric field. A cathode plate(2) is mounted on the field emitter. An anode plate(1) is spaced apart from and opposed to the cathode plate and has a phosphor screen(4) formed on the anode plate. A flat electrode(13) is spaced apart from the anode plate and has a plurality of electron beam passing holes. An electrode support(11) permits the flat electrode to be fixed at the anode plate with a predetermined spacing formed between the flat electrode and the anode plate.
