<p>The filter for insertion in the filler neck of a heating oil furnace tank comprises an open-topped cylinder, with one or more detachable leakproof dirt filters in a funnel tube near the top, and with oil discharge outlets between the funnel tube and the cylinder sides. The outlets can incorporate a further separator filter. The lower filter is supported on a ledge, and at the cylinder bottom is a mechanical sponge-type, or porous, sludge and water extractor. Clogging of conduits and premature rusting of tanks is prevented.</p> |
