Preparation and method for treating hybrid yarns

A preparation (I) for the treatment of hybrid yarn made from glass fibres and polyolefin (preferably polypropylene) fibres contains silanols resulting from the stoichiometric hydrolysis of silanes with water. Independent claims are also included for (1) A method for the treatment of hybrid yarn as above by application of a silanol-containing preparation (I); (2) Hybrid glass/polyolefin yarn treated with (I); and (3) Composite materials and textile sheet material made from this treated hybrid yarn.
