PURPOSE: An SMS(Short Message Service) phone system having a remote message transmission function and a control method therefor are provided to retrieve a previously registered user interworking telephone number and transmit various messages received during the absence of a user of an SMS phone to the retrieved telephone number. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit(6) stores a message signal received through an office line(1). A control unit(7) controls a priority retransmission function of the received message signal and the entire function of an SMS phone(5). A priority management unit(8) stores and manages a priority interworking telephone number designated by a user, for performing the message priority retransmission function of the control unit(7). A keypad(10) having a user absence confirmation button(9) connects to the control unit(7).
