PURPOSE: A refrigerating cycle's noise control method of air conditioner is provided to reduce noise generated in a short-tube installed to an indoor unit in turning off an electric power source. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing the noise of a cooling cycle for an air conditioner comprises the steps of stopping a compressor when an electric power source of the air conditioner is turned off(S1,S2); intercepting a refrigerant passage between indoor and outdoor units if the compressor is stopped(S3); and preventing the noise generated in the indoor unit in intercepting the refrigerant passage(S4,S5). The step of intercepting the refrigerant passage intercepts the refrigerant passage with service valves mounted to a refrigerant piping between the indoor and outdoor units. The step of preventing noise reduces noise by preventing refrigerant from being flowed into the short-tube disposed to the indoor unit.
