To produce flat cable strips, where a number of conductors are in parallel and spaced apart within a plastics shrouding, the plastics film (9) is passed together with the electrical conductors (7) through the gap between a roller (4) and a shaping bar (12) to be bonded together into the cable strip. The bonded cable strip is passed through the same roller/bar gap together with a plastics mass, delivered from an extruder (1) through an extruder head (2,3), so that the conductors are wholly shrouded on all sides.
