The channels (22, 23) for carrying a liquid coolant are integrally formed in an elongated part (18) of the fitting (10) and extend parallel, but separate from each other. The channel openings are connectable to each other at one end to allow coolant to flow in opposite directions along the fitting before being removed. Means (27, 28) are provided for securing sideways-pointing reflector plates (25, 26) used to direct emitted heat towards the channels. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The fitting includes a socket (11) for a lamp (15), especially a high pressure sodium lamp or other discharge lamp, designed to emit light in a downwards direction. The fitting is made entirely from a heat conducting metallic material (e.g. aluminium). The socket is positioned beneath an elongated part of the fitting and releasably secured to it. |
