<p>A method of video processing comprising: receiving video data; encoding the video data; transmitting the encoded video data; receiving encoded video data; and decoding the encoded video data. In the invention, the encoded video data is decoded until a first error in the encoded video data is detected. In response to the detection of an error, encoded video data subsequent to the first error is altered and an attempt to decode the altered encoded video data is made. The data alteration step is repeated until either all the encoded video data is decoded or until an attempt to decode the encoded video data is unsuccessful, so reducing the amount of encoded video data that is skipped in decoding due to error detection. <IMAGE></p> |
