PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head capable of ejecting an ultrafine ink drop of 1 P or less, a recorder, an ink cassette, and a method for producing an ink jet recording head. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a substrate in which an ink ejection heater and an ink supply opening are formed, a barrier wall layer where a heater and an ink liquid channel communicating with the ink supply opening are formed on the substrate, and an orifice plate communicating with the liquid channel and having an ink ejection opening formed oppositely to the heater wherein the barrier wall layer is composed of a negative photosensitive resin and the orifice plate is a thin metallic film having a thickness in the range of 0.1-2.0μm.
