<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball provided with a cover having improved elasticity, good durability to wear, good hardness and wear resistance providing a good spin. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball includes a center and at least layer one layer encircling this center, in which the layer is formed of a composite material containing a matrix material and a filament material embedded into this matrix material and the ratio of the elastic modulus in tension of the matrix material to the elastic modulus in tension of the filament material is about 20 to about 120. The matrix material contains polyamide, polyurethane, polyurea, polybutadiene, ionomer or their blends and the filament material is formed of a plurality of fibers and the fibers include a glass or polymer material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
