PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material feeder with which the change or adjustment work of operating speed of a press machine is efficiently carried out. SOLUTION: The material feeder carries out a feeding operation while making the position of a strip material 90 correspond to each phase of the press machine 25. Accordingly, when the operating speed of the press machine 25 is changed, the feeding speed of the strip material 90 is interlocked with the operating speed and automatically changed, and the change work of the operating speed of the press machine 25 is easily carried out. When the press machine 25 is stopped, the feeding of the strip material 90 is concurrently stopped, thereby material clogging does not occur. Even when the press machine 25 is reversed, the numerical control of servomotors 53 and 64 is carried out using positional data read from a memory 101 on the basis of phase data detected by an encoder 104.
