THERMOPHILIC GLUCIDE-DEGRADING MICROORGANISM AND METHOD FOR DEGRADATION TREATMENT OF ORGANIC WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermophilic glucide-degrading microorganism efficiently degrading glucides at a temperature for melting animal oils and fats and a method for degrading organic wastes with which the glucides can efficiently be degraded at the temperature for melting the animal oils and fats. SOLUTION: The thermophilic glucide-degrading bacterium belongs to the genus Bacillus and degrades the glucides at≥50°C. A Bacillus stearothermophilus No.10 strain which is the thermophilic glucide-degrading bacterium is separated and identified. Starch is efficiently degraded at 50-70°C with the strain.
