摘要 The invention subject of this invention pertains to device and methods for transmitting electromagnetic signals into or through magnetically permeable and electrically conductive materials. The invention also teaches the method and apparatus for receiving a return signal from or through the material, thereby permitting information to be collected on matter on the opposite side of the material. The subject invention teaches various techniques for creating EM wave transparencies in materials such as carbon steel and iron. The invention further teaches methods and apparatus for varying, in a controlled manner, the size of the transparency, the creation of multiple transparencies, the sequential opening and closing of the transparencies, utilization of one or more transmitting and receiving devices, each of which may be located at its own transparent opening. The invention also teaches methods and apparatus for controlling the dispersion of the magnetic flux field, thereby allowing the flux field to be focused in a controlled manner. This allows magnetic signals to be transmitted into or through such magnetically permeable and electrically conductive material with lowered power consumption.
