PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nearly colorless chromanol glycoside composition having high purity and high water solubility. SOLUTION: The method for the production of the chromanol glycoside composition comprises the reaction of a 2-substituted alcohol with a sugar in the presence of an enzyme catalyzing the corresponding sugar transfer reaction in combination with an antioxidation agent. The chromanol glycoside composition produced by the method is almost colorless and has high purity and, accordingly, the composition is preferably usable in various fields without purification, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
