PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production, etc., of a useful composition with which a lactic acid bacterium and a yeast can be made to act in a good state. SOLUTION: The method for the production, etc., of the useful composition is carried out as follows. A lactic acid bacterium (Lactobacillus fermentum) is inoculated into a microbial cell culture medium containing bean-curd refuse, glutinous rice and rice bran to carry out culturing at about 10 to about 20°C for about 10 to about 50 days. Thereby, a stock bacterium is obtained. About 5-20 pts.mass of water is added to 1 pt.mass of the stock bacterium and cultured at about 35 to about 45°C for about 2 to about 5 days to afford a mother starter A. About 2-8 pts.mass of water is then added to 1 pt.mass of the resultant mother starter A and cultured at about 35 to about 45°C for about 2 to about 5 days to afford a mother starter B.
