PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent solidification of black ink being discharged from a black ink head. SOLUTION: In the ink jet printer comprising a black ink head ejecting pigment based black ink and a color ink head ejecting dye based color ink, solidification of black ink can be prevented by sucking color ink from the color ink head after ink from the black ink head is discharged.
