PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for a vibration actuator capable of developing two functions in portable machinery and enabling a user to perform calling out with high sensitivity, and also to provide the portable machinery equipped with the vibration actuator. SOLUTION: In the driving method for the vibration actuator used in the portable machinery, low frequency is provided to one of the chords of melody data and used as vibration data to drive the vibration actuator.
