PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable material for artificial fishing bait that is biodegraded by microorganisms under the natural condition, even when it is discarded in sea, rivers or lake, without liberation of any environmental contaminants, in addition, has a soft feeling resembling natural bait and shows excellent resistance to water, elongation, strength and transparency. SOLUTION: The biodegradable material for the artificial fishing bait is made of an aliphatic polyester urethane elastomer that is produced by formulating an aliphatic polyisocyanate at a molar ratio of NCO/OH of 0.5-2.5 based on an aliphatic polyester diol or a mixture thereof with a polyhydric alcohol and a plasticizer in an amount corresponding to 20-80 wt.% in the final product and subjecting the resultant formulation to addition-condensation reaction.
