VEHICULAR IMPACT ABSORBING SEAT STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb an impact load of a rear end collision without being accompanied by attitude fluctuation. SOLUTION: A seat 12 is supported by pivotal attachment of a side bracket 26 and a free end 32a of a driving link to each upper end of a fixed front leg arm 14 with a lower end fixed to an upper rail 20 (a floor body side member) and a movable rear leg arm 16 capable of swinging fore and aft with a lower end pivotally attached to the supper rail. The front leg arm is formed as a fragile member buckled by input of a load of a withstand load value or more set on the basis of the impact load of the rear end collision. By rearward swinging of the rear leg arm 16 following buckling deformation of the front leg arm 14 due to the input of the impact load of the set withstand load value or more in the rear end collision, the seat 12 can be moved backward and a rearward displacement of the seat can be regulated within a particular amount by a link shaft 36 (a stopper means).
