PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling device for a rear engine vehicle improved so that a ventilation resistance during running at a high speed can be prevented from being increased while water and pebbles are prevented from being invaded into the duct and that hot air is not applied to the rider of a motorcycle and pedestrians during running at a low speed or upon stoppage. SOLUTION: The engine cooling device 4 of the rear engine vehicle having an engine 1 mounted on a body at the rear part thereof comprises an inlet 5 provided in the side face of the body, an outlet opened in the body at the rear part to the rear lower side, ducts 7 and 10 forming an air flow passage between the inlet and the outlet, a radiator 11 installed between the intermediate part of the ducts, and a valve member 21 for opening and closing the outlet 22 opened to the rear side. By this, cooling air passing through the radiator is discharged also to the rear side during a normal running, and exclusively discharged to the lower side during running at low speeds or upon stoppage.
