PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively producing UDP-glucuronic acid (GlcA). SOLUTION: This method for effectively producing the UDP-GlcA is characterized by adding the precursor of uridine-5'-triphosphate and a sugar to an aqueous medium in the presence of an enzyme source comprising the culture product of a microorganism having an ability to produce UDP-glucose from the precursor of the uridine-5'-triphosphate and the sugar or the treated product of the culture product, and the culture product of a transformant having an ability to produce a protein having a UDP-glucose dehydrogenase activity or the treated product of the culture product, thereby producing and accumulating the UDP- GlcA in the aqueous medium, and then collecting the UDP-GlcA from the aqueous medium.
