<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the effective purification of air containing harmful chemical substances by chemical decomposition for removing pollutants. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus has a powered rotary fan 1 and a titanium (IV) oxide layer on the surface of the fan 1. An outer reflection surface 2 is so arranged on the circumference of the fan 1 as to reflect blown air of the fan 1 and the blown air, reflected on an opposed reflection surface 3, along the axis of the rotation of the fan 1 and has the titanium (IV) oxide layer on the surface thereof. The opposed reflection surface 2 is so arranged facing the fan 1 as to reflect the blown air of the fan 1 onto the outer reflection surface 2 and has the titanium (IV) oxide layer on the surface thereof. An ultraviolet ray source 5 is provided to generate photocatalytic actions on the fan 1, the outer reflection surface 2 and the opposed reflection surface 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
