METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRET FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter which can maintain high capturing efficiency with a small pressure drop which is heretofore not possible with the prior art for a long period.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electret filter comprises sheeting polytetrafluoroethylene fibers by a wet sheeting process to make a fluorine fiber sheet and applying an electric charge to the fluorine fiber sheet while heating the sheet thereby subjecting the sheet to an electret treatment.
