PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a delay in control is caused to result in remaining unreaped harvests when left and right heights are greatly deviated from each set height because the control speed is the same even when tilted to any position in conventional left and right height control of a reaping part and to provide a combine harvester. SOLUTION: The combine harvester is equipped with a pair of left and right lifting and lowering driving means 25L and 25R designed to independently change left and right supporting heights of a machine body, car height detecting means 26L and 26R for detecting the left and right supporting heights, a machine height setting means 62 for setting the car height of the machine body, a reaping height setting means 63 for setting the height of the reaping part 4, a lifting and lowering driving means 27 for lifting and lowering the reaping part 4, means 34L and 34R for detecting left and right ground heights of the reaping part 4, a storing means 61 for storing each detected value and a controlling means 60 connected thereto for controlling the lifting and lowering driving means 25L and 25R. The combine harvester controls the reaping height. In the combine harvester, lifting and lowering control is performed so that the reaping part 4 is lowered at a high speed until ground contact members of the means for detecting the ground heights contact the ground and then at a low speed after the means for detecting the ground heights contact the ground until the set height is reached.
