PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge ejection of a liquid by a simple structure of a device without wasting liquid. SOLUTION: An optical beam 12 is projected to a surface 8a of an ink by an optical beam generating device 13 of an ink ejection detecting device 11. At the same time, an ink ejecting means 9 is operated to vibrate the surface 8a of the ink. A shift of a focal point of the optical beam 12 due to the vibration is detected by a focal point detecting device 16. An actuator 18 is driven via a driver 17 to move an objective lens 14 so as to adjust the focal point of the optical beam 12 to the surface 8a of the ink. A current output of the driver 17 at that time is measured by a current sensor 19. The ejection of the ink is judged based on the measured result. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
