<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium, which has good C/N of reproduced signals and possesses good weathering resistance, at a low cost by developing a recording film having high reflectance, high modulation and high sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: In this optical recording medium in which recording/reproducing is carried out by laser beam irradiation, a low-melting thin film formed of an inorganic material is located on a laser beam irradiation side, and a thin film composed mainly of a semimetal element is next located.
