<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for processing a medical image capable of detecting an uneven abnormal shadow candidate in regard to the whole of a medical image. <P>SOLUTION: The medical image processing device is characterized by that it has a selecting means for selecting an area where the abnormal shadow candidate should be detected in regard to the medical image acquired from an object, an abnormal shadow candidate detecting means for detecting the abnormal shadow candidate, and a control means for controlling the abnormal shadow candidate detecting means so as to detect the abnormal shadow candidate in regard to the area selected by the selecting means in regard to the medical image acquired from the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
