METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-AMINO ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the productivity of an L-amino acid by bacteria from the viewpoint different from conventional techniques.

SOLUTION: A microorganism capable of producing an L-amino acid is cultured in a medium and the L-amino acid produced and accumulated in the medium is collected. The microorganism to be used in the method is a Gram-negative bacteria having Entner-Doudoroff pathway and increased 6-phosphogluconic acid dehydrogenase activity and/or 2-keto-3-deoxy-6-phosphogluconic acid aldolase activity.
