<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which enables the formation of an image having good dependency upon a light source while maintaining the color gamut by using only chromatic colors. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming method includes combining a plurality of colorants of chromatic colors to form an achromatic color. The colorants are combined so that the fluctuation width of the spectral reflectance of the achromatic color of L*=40 to 70 under a first light source in the wavelength range of 500 to 600 nm is not more than 8%.
