The invention relates to a composite structure comprising at least a first and a second transparent or translucent panel element with generally parallel facing surfaces being at a finite distance to each other and separated by a preformed flexible insulating laminate located, in general, along the peripheral area of the first and second panel element, in intimate contact with the surfaces thereof, said insulating laminate comprising: a) at least a longitudinal core; b) at least a longitudinal adhesive film being in intimate contact with the longitudinal core and adhering to the first and second panel element, or at least an adhesive film being in contact with the first panel element and at least another adhesive film in contact with the second panel element and c) at least a longitudinal spacer, substantially normal to the planes formed by the first and the second panel element, having the width shorter than or equal to the finite distance therebetween, being able to be bent normal to its width, without changing the width with more than 0.1%, extending substantially along the flexible laminate and being in contact, either partially or totally embeded in the longitudinal core, where the adhesive film has a composition different from the composition of the core, and at least a core portion is located between the spacer and a gap with insulating gas defined between the first and the second panel element and the laminate. The composite structure is meant for making insulating panel elements for constructions, such as windows, which can be assembled or changed in situ. |
