<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability when an endoscopic operation system is remotely controlled, and to enable an operator to securely operate a remote control device, thereby improving operation efficiency by shortening an operation time. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 31 can be operated on a radio interactive communication by a first infrared communication with a protocol of a high speed and a high capacity but a comparatively short communication reach, to a system controller 16 through an infrared communication interface 18a in an infrared communication device 19a.
